254/365 I need a diet that I will love

We all have a tastebud when it is about food… Not all of that is said to be healthy… I am on an exploration to have a healthy diet with only things I love… This for me is pure Kerala food… it is not easy…. fired items and rice items… is there a way to work around that…

But there is also a school of thought that it is not what… but how much… and when and so on… The interesting thing I figured about diet is there is no point doing something that is not sustainable or even makes you unhappy… Making something both healthy and tasty is not easy.. and it needs several things which I don’t think I posses and will have to acquire…

One is the skill to cook well… For example anyone can make meat eatable if cooked with a lot of spices and oil… in my opinion making good vegetarian food is not easy… But I am slowly starting to learn it…

One such thing that I have started making is a dry dish with Bitter gourd and unripe banana…. But the problem is I eat it with rice and buttermilk… and rice is carb…

Next few months my goal is to go all Kerala… except for breakfast which is now one egg with a chappathi.. The first step is to identify things I like to eat and then find out the easy way to make it and how to make it as easily as possible and how do I control the portion without stress…

I say Kerala food because that is one thing you never get bored because it is who you are.. for you it might be any other food that you grew up with… Won’t it be nice to have a great diet with food you love…

I don’t crave for burgers or pizza that often.. may be once in 4-6 months may be… but I do eat them way more often… Why..? I am not sure…. I am not a fan of pastas.. don’t eat them either… I like having some noodles may be once in a while…. some Thai or Chinese food…

Now I make a sandwich for office… as it is less of a hassle… no need to heat up also and it does not have the problem of the odor of masala… In order to be considerate with others…

Making tasty sandwiches is also something I need to learn better… I have been thinking that I need to have a very focussed cooking activity… Our Cooking range needs to be changed.. only two burners currently work…

I need to create a calendar of all the food I will make and find the healthy recipes and start on it… daily cooking is difficult and so we have to do a weekly activity… Let’s see.

And all this is with the goal to lose 20 pounds by end of the year… food is a major factor.. I know it is tough… I am writing this after having some rice and chicken curry at around 8:30 PM.. Too late for dinner and too much carb…. So much to change and learn if I need to hit my target with all the constraints I am putting out…
